A new story concerning citizen journalism access in Congress…
Via commonsense, originally from consumeraffairs.com…
The U.S. Senate Press Gallery has ejected ConsumerAffairs.Com reporter Joe Enoch after his credentials expired and Gallery officials refused to renew them.
I have no idea whether or not the ejection of this journalist was made for a good reason. The problem is that there’s no way to tell. The galleries function at the pleasure of the Speaker, but (obviously) their decisions aren’t subject to public review. The public has an interest in understanding how access is controlled to Congress, and having an avenue to public access that isn’t mediated by an exclusive media association.
